Post: Abuja Tech Week to Propel Digital Investment into the Capital


Abuja: The Chairman of the Abuja Tech and Digital Economy Week (ATDEW) steering committee, Andrew Abu, has announced that the upcoming event is set to bridge investors with technology companies, unlocking development opportunities at the Abuja Technology Village. The announcement was made during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), where Abu highlighted that the theme of the event is ‘Energizing Smart Mobility: Powering Cities of the Future’.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Abu emphasized the importance of creating linkages to transform Nigeria’s innovative ideas into tangible economic growth, products, and services that could attract both local and foreign investments. He stated, “Nigeria has no shortage of innovative young people. Our responsibility is to build the bridge between ideas, infrastructure, investment, deployment and scale.”

Abu further explained that the engagement with Abuja Technology Village is strategically designed to stimulate economic activities by showcasing market
-ready innovations, facilitating deal-making, and positioning Abuja as a central hub for smart-city and technology investments.

The Tech Week aims to drive economic growth through job creation, startup support, and the attraction of venture capital and private equity. It will also focus on aligning government and private sector policies to reduce business costs in the technology sector. Discussions will also focus on providing selected innovators from the National Innovation Challenge with access to technology infrastructure and incubation, along with mentorship, pilot opportunities, and commercialization support at the Science and Technology Park.

The management of Abuja Technology Village has welcomed the collaboration and expressed readiness to work with the Steering Committee on a formal partnership framework. The News Agency of Nigeria reports that ATDEW is expected to host over 7,000 delegates, including policymakers, investors, startups, and development partners.

The event will feature an exhibition
, an investor deal room, and an investment forum concentrating on smart mobility, clean energy, AI, cybersecurity, and digital infrastructure. It is set to be hosted in 2026 by the Young Innovators of Nigeria, in collaboration with the Rural Electrification Agency and the Nigeria Computer Society.
