Cape town: The nominees for the African Energy Week (AEW) 2026 Awards have been announced, recognizing the companies, projects, and individuals driving innovation, investment, and growth across Africa’s energy sector. The awards, which feature 12 categories spanning the full energy value chain, celebrate the achievements shaping the continent’s energy future.
According to African Press Organization, the winners will be announced during the AEW 2026 Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony, scheduled for Tuesday, October 13, in Cape Town. This event will bring together ministers, industry leaders, investors, and technology providers to acknowledge excellence in areas such as upstream, downstream, gas, power, local content, technology, and corporate leadership.
Among the notable categories, the African Service Provider of the Year highlights companies like GeoEnergy Group for their efforts in digital transformation and local expertise development, and KAESO for expanding engineering services across Africa. The International Service Provider of the Year includes nominees like NOV for its advanced engineering solutions and SBM Offshore for its offshore production advancements.
In terms of local content, Seplat Energy is recognized for its commitment to a predominantly Nigerian workforce, while TotalEnergies Uganda is noted for training Uganda’s future oil and gas workforce through the Tilenga Academy. The EandP Leader of the Year category sees Shell and Renaissance Africa Energy making significant discoveries that reinforce their exploration leadership.
The awards also recognize transformative projects such as the Dangote Refinery and the East African Crude Oil Pipeline for their contributions to refining capacity and cross-border infrastructure, respectively. The Deal of the Year category features Trafigura’s $1 billion oil prepayment agreement with Gabon, among others.
Corporate social responsibility initiatives are also highlighted with Mozambique LNG and the South African National Petroleum Company being acknowledged for their impactful community projects. The Gas Monetization Award sees Levene Energies and Congo LNG making strides in gas commercialization and LNG production.
Finally, technology innovation and power development are celebrated with TotalEnergies and SOLA Group being recognized for their contributions to hybrid renewable energy projects and technology advancements. The awards promise to shine a light on the significant contributions to Africa’s energy landscape and the promising future ahead.
