Post: APC South-East Women Plan Mega Rally in Enugu to Support Tinubu

Abuja: The All Progressives Congress (APC) women in the South-East have announced plans to hold a mega rally in Enugu on August 18 to mobilise support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections. The announcement was made by the APC South-East Women Leader, Dr. Oby Ajir, at a news conference in Abuja organized by the National Coordinating Committee of the South-East Women Mega Rally and Empowerment Programme.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the rally, themed ‘One Region, One Vision, Victory for Tinubu 2027,’ aims to consolidate support for the APC in the upcoming 2027 elections. The event is set to gather women from the South-East states of Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo, and will feature an empowerment initiative for women, providing grants and start-up support for traders, farmers, and small and medium-sized enterprises. Additionally, skills acquisition equipment will be distributed to participants.

Dr. Ajir highlighted that the programme would include political leadership training to encourage greater involvement of women in elective and party positions. Sen. Uche Ekwunife, a former Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, emphasized that the rally would serve as a platform for APC supporters in the region to demonstrate their backing for Tinubu and highlight what she described as his administration’s achievements in the South-East.

Mrs. Ginika Florence-Tor, Principal Liaison Officer to the APC Deputy National Chairman (South-East), noted that women from all five South-East states are anticipated to attend the event. Dr. Princess Akubundu, National Organising Secretary of the Tinubu Torch Bearers Group, expressed expectations that the rally would effectively mobilise support for APC candidates in the 2027 elections.

The organisers have planned the event to integrate political mobilisation with an empowerment programme, targeting women across various sectors of the economy.
