Abuja:The Progressive Voice for Progressive Minds (PVPM), a support group for the All Progressives Congress (APC), has announced plans for nationwide grassroots mobilization to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election campaign in 2027.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the group’s National Coordinator, Mrs. Theresa Ugbaja, made this commitment during a National Dialogue on Progress organized by the group in Abuja. Ugbaja emphasized that PVPM is a dedicated support movement committed to the success of the APC and the continuation of the Tinubu administration. She noted that the group operates across polling units, wards, the 36 states, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) through state coordinators and executive members.
Ugbaja highlighted the Tinubu administration’s achievements, such as ongoing infrastructure projects, including coastal roads, and the implementation of a student loan scheme. She mentioned that the removal of the petrol subsidy has allowed funds to be redirected towards federal projects and humanitarian support programs, including interest-free loans for small businesses and youth empowerment.
Addressing the group’s goal for the upcoming elections, Ugbaja stated that they aim to secure about two million votes from each state and the FCT. The APC Chairman in the FCT, Ishaku Yamawo, praised the group’s grassroots mobilization efforts, which he believes will strengthen the party’s position ahead of the 2027 elections. Yamawo expressed optimism regarding Tinubu’s re-election and the success of other APC candidates.
Yamawo advised the group to adhere to APC guidelines and focus on mobilizing registered voters, particularly those with Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs). He stressed the importance of the group’s impact at the grassroots level to achieve electoral success. Additionally, Yamawo assured party members of the APC’s preparedness for the elections, highlighting ongoing consultations and the party’s strengthened political presence in the FCT.
