Art Minister Pledges Collaboration with Ex-Minister Ade-John to Boost Tourism.


Abuja: Hannatu Musawa, the Nigerian Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism, and the Creative Economy, has committed to collaborating closely with her predecessor, Mrs. Lola Ade-John, to promote awareness and advance the tourism sector. During the formal handover ceremony at her office in Abuja, Minister Musawa praised Mrs. Ade-John for her accomplishments during her time in office.

According to Voice of Nigeria, Minister Musawa expressed her admiration for Mrs. Ade-John, referring to her as both a sister and a friend. She noted that their journeys into their respective roles were challenging, yet they made a pact to work together due to the integration of their ministries. Musawa described the transition as “bitter-sweet,” recognizing the progress made in the industry while lamenting the premature end of Ade-John’s journey in the ministry.

Minister Musawa acknowledged Mrs. Ade-John’s dedication and promised to build upon her foundation in the tourism industry. She assured that all initiatives started by Ade-John
would be credited to her, emphasizing that the contributions of her predecessor would be recognized by the world, the administration, and the industry stakeholders.

Mrs. Ade-John expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the opportunity to serve in his administration and pledged her support to Minister Musawa. She acknowledged the support she received from Directors-General, Heads of departments, and her aides. Ade-John particularly thanked Minister Musawa for her personal support during her recovery from illness in the United Kingdom.

During the ceremony, Mrs. Ade-John committed to assisting Minister Musawa in managing the expansive tourism industry and garnering support from industry stakeholders. The handover ceremony witnessed the presence of the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Patricia Ibiene Roberts, OON, Directors-General of the Nigerian Tourism Development Authority (NTDA) and the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism, along with Directors of the Ministry and aides of the Minister.
