Abuja: The Bola Ahmed Tinubu Ideological Group (BAT-IG) has unveiled an Engagement Programme and Media Enthusiast Platform aimed at mobilising 10,000 Nigerian youths to deepen civic participation and strengthen grassroots engagement in governance. The initiative, launched by the group’s Convener, Bamidele Atoyebi, in Abuja, seeks to bridge information gaps between government policies and public awareness.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Atoyebi emphasized the importance of connecting citizens with federal programmes, noting that while many Nigerians have benefited from these initiatives, the impact remains underreported due to a lack of active storytelling by the beneficiaries. BAT-IG, a sociopolitical, humanitarian, and policy-advocacy organisation, is committed to promoting grassroots-driven governance, youth empowerment, healthcare advocacy, educational support, and national unity, aligning with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.
Atoyebi highlighted that the platform would empower citizens who have benefited from government interventions to share their experiences and the positive impacts on their lives. Participants will receive a monthly stipend of N20,000 for one year, conditional on their active participation in sensitisation activities, including producing videos and engaging communities.
The programme aims to engage between 8,000 and 10,000 participants from electoral wards, ensuring representation across the federation. The initiative will require significant monthly funding, and BAT-IG plans to collaborate with stakeholders and partners to sustain the programme financially.
The advocacy will focus on various federal initiatives, such as student support schemes, youth employment opportunities, civil service benefits, skills acquisition programmes, and entrepreneurial loans. To achieve nationwide reach, BAT-IG will implement digital registration and grassroots mobilisation through ward coordinators and community structures.
Atoyebi stressed that the programme is not intended for propaganda but rather to facilitate the sharing of verified information, opportunities, and personal experiences regarding government interventions and empowerment programmes. He encouraged participants to produce monthly videos documenting their access to opportunities and benefits from the administration’s initiatives, with the aim of inspiring more Nigerians through shared testimonies on social media platforms.
