New delhi: BRICS countries have advanced cooperation on micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), global value chains, and logistics under India’s 2026 Chairship. Secretary of Economic Relations in India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Shri Sudhakar Dalela, made this known while addressing newsmen at the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Dalela stated that the cooperation pillar focused on deepening economic collaboration among BRICS members. Key initiatives such as the BRICS MSME Cooperation Portal, cooperation on global value chains, and the BRICS Logistics Supply Chain Cooperation Framework were developed during India’s chairship.
Dalela mentioned that these initiatives are part of more than 50 practical outcomes achieved across the four priority areas of resilience, innovation, cooperation, and sustainability. India aimed to make BRICS cooperation more practical, solution-oriented, and people-centered.
The grouping also advanced initiatives in innovation, including the BRICS Startup Innovation Fund and Incubator Network, as well as the BRICS Science and Research Repository. Dalela highlighted that cooperation on infrastructure, technology, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development was also strengthened.
He concluded that these initiatives would provide a foundation for deeper BRICS collaboration beyond India’s 2026 Chairship.
