Post: Builders Council Urges Nigerian Youths to Embrace Innovation and Sustainability


Karu: Dr. Samson Opaluwah, Chairman of the Council of Registered Builders of Nigeria (CORBON), has urged Nigerian youths to embrace faith, innovation, and sustainability to promote positive change and transformation in the country. Opaluwah made the call during the 6th convocation lecture at Bingham University in Karu, Nasarawa, themed ‘Faith, Innovation and Sustainability; Building a Resilient Future for Nigeria.’



According to News Agency of Nigeria, Opaluwah emphasized the importance of merging faith with innovative thinking and sustainable practices to forge a resilient future for Nigeria. He highlighted that faith is more than just a religious virtue; it is an engine of hope and courage, while innovation is not solely about technology but about Kingdom-minded problem solving.



Opaluwah further stated the necessity of considering the convergence of faith, innovation, and sustainability to build a resilient future for Nigeria. He explained that faith influences the pursuit of innovation and sustainability by encouraging creative thinking and seeking solutions to complex challenges. This approach inspires bold steps and investments in initiatives that foster human well-being and environmental stewardship, grounded in accountability to the creator.



The chairman also noted the challenges currently affecting the nation, such as economic volatility, environmental degradation, structural failures, and social disparities. He stressed the importance of resilience and sustainability for Nigeria’s prosperity, urging a focus on innovation, collaboration, and social responsibility.



Addressing the graduands, Opaluwah encouraged them to develop a consistent prayer life and surround themselves with Godly mentors. He advised them to embrace failure as a learning opportunity and make choices that honor God and creation. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of maintaining emotional and spiritual health and fostering sustainable relationships.



Prof. Haruna Ayuba, Vice-Chancellor of Bingham University, remarked that the convocation lecture marked an important milestone, celebrating both the 6th convocation ceremony and the university’s 20th anniversary. He emphasized the role of faith, innovation, and sustainability as guiding pillars for the graduates’ future endeavors.



Prof. Sa’adatu Liman, Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University Keffi, commended the guest speaker for addressing contemporary issues in Nigeria. She highlighted the necessity of faith in driving impactful innovation and sustaining the nation.



The event also featured the inauguration of new hostels and the unveiling of the Faculty of Education building by the ECWA President, Rev. Job Mallam, and the Pro Chancellor.
