Post: Bwari Chairman Reflects on 100-Day Achievements and Future Plans

Bwari:The Chairman of Bwari Area Council, Mr. Joshua Ishaku, has highlighted significant progress in infrastructure and agricultural empowerment since taking office in June. At an event marking the first 100 days of his administration, Ishaku outlined his plans to further develop the district in the coming months.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Ishaku’s administration is built around four key priorities security, infrastructure and basic services, human capital and empowerment, and food security and agricultural development. Initial efforts included the commissioning of a 40,000-litre solar-powered borehole and infrastructure improvements such as road overlays and a new bridge.

The chairman detailed the distribution of fertilizers to boost agriculture and the rehabilitation of a police outpost to enhance security. His administration has also initiated projects to improve sanitation with smart toilets and is working on developing a Women Development Centre aimed at transforming Bwari into a skills and ICT hub.

An Asset and Liability Verification Committee was set up to examine previous administration documents, and a Bwari Economic Council was established to guide economic growth. Collaborations with NGOs and other organizations are also underway to align development efforts with residents’ needs.

Despite the progress, Ishaku acknowledged remaining challenges, such as the need for better infrastructure, healthcare, and education. He emphasized ongoing projects and collaboration with the FCT Administration to address these issues. Youth and women empowerment, through initiatives like training programs and financial support, remain central to the council’s agenda.

As Bwari approaches its 30th anniversary, Ishaku committed to building on the contributions of past leaders and leaving a lasting positive impact on the council. He called for collective efforts from residents and stakeholders to achieve these goals.
