Kaduna:The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, has called on newly graduated catering personnel to maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, professionalism, and resource management in their respective units. This directive was given at the graduation ceremony for the Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced Catering Courses at the Nigerian Air Force College of Logistics (NAFCOOL).
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Air Marshal Aneke, represented by the Chief of Logistics, AVM Henry Yurkusi, emphasized the critical role of catering and hospitality in military logistics, noting their direct impact on personnel welfare, morale, and operational readiness. He highlighted the importance of providing nutritious, hygienically prepared meals to support the fighting spirit and effectiveness of military personnel.
Aneke encouraged NAFCOOL to maintain high training standards and adapt its curriculum to incorporate emerging trends and best practices in the catering and hospitality industry. He urged the graduates to apply their acquired knowledge and skills to enhance performance and demonstrate discipline, creativity, teamwork, and accountability in their duties.
The Air Chief stressed that military catering encompasses more than meal preparation, extending to food safety, quality control, and resource management. He congratulated award-winning personnel for their exemplary character and competence, and praised the college’s staff for their dedication to training proficient catering personnel.
NAFCOOL’s Commandant, AVM Ma Felix Uwakara, remarked on the college’s achievements in developing professional logistics personnel for the Nigerian Air Force. The training included food preparation, safety, resource management, and hospitality practices. Uwakara also mentioned the relocation of the college’s headquarters to Enugu, with plans to move other schools to the new location.
He expressed gratitude to the Chief of Air Staff for supporting logistics training and thanked the Air Force Institute of Technology and other Kaduna-based formations for facilitating the training environment. The ceremony was attended by senior officers, instructors, and guests, celebrating the graduates’ enhanced professional competencies.
