Port Harcourt:US-based Nigerian cleric, Apostle Queen Belemzy, founder of Queen Belemzy Ministries-School of Power, has urged Nigerian authorities to address insecurity and social vices that tarnish the nation’s image.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Belemzy expressed her concerns during her three-day birthday celebration in Port Harcourt, themed ‘Holy Ghost Encounter,’ which marked her 46th birthday and return to Nigeria. She emphasized that insecurity has made both Nigerians and foreigners apprehensive about visiting the country, recounting personal struggles with the decision to return due to reports of insecurity and kidnappings.
Belemzy highlighted that members of her ministry from Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the United Arab Emirates were particularly concerned about visiting Nigeria. She noted that curbing these issues could transform Nigeria into a desirable destination, urging authorities to also address alleged extortions and begging at the nation’s airports.
She recounted an incident where an airport official allegedly demanded $20 from members of her ministry to allow them passage, calling for investigations into such complaints to ensure proper treatment of visitors. Belemzy warned that begging and monetary demands could create a negative impression of the country.
Despite acknowledging economic hardships contributing to begging, Belemzy insisted it should not justify the practice. She praised Nigeria’s abundant talent, natural resources, cultural attractions, and cuisine, attributing her return to a divine mission to contribute to the country’s development.
Belemzy, once a party promoter, now dedicates her life to Jesus Christ, sharing her faith and supporting people through her ministry, which includes philanthropic initiatives like distributing free clothes, food, and Bibles. She emphasized the importance of electing leaders who demonstrate compassion, responsibility, and service.
The cleric expressed optimism about Nigeria’s potential for improvement if leaders and citizens embrace values of compassion and responsibility, urging Nigerians to follow Jesus Christ as the light of the world.
