Post: Cleric Tasks Leaders on Godliness, Transformational Leadership

Abuja: Belema Abili, a US-based Nigerian preacher, has called on political and religious leaders to embrace godliness and a transformational leadership style as essential tools for national peace and prosperity. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the cleric made the call at a news conference on Thursday in Abuja to unveil the evangelical outreach initiatives of her ministry across Nigeria.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Abili urged Nigerian leaders at all strata of society to embrace the virtues of selflessness, fear of God, and a commitment to improving the wellbeing of the masses rather than personal gains. She emphasized that Nigeria needs a spiritual and moral rebirth to overcome challenges such as corruption, insecurity, and poverty, and to attain its rightful place among the comity of nations.

Abili expressed her desire for a country where she can move freely without the fear of insecurity, highlighting the need for leaders to have the fear of God, which would, in turn, lead them to act in the interest of the people rather than enriching themselves. She attributed issues like ritual killings and kidnappings to leaders lacking godly fear.

The evangelist lamented that many political leaders in Nigeria are surrounded by sycophants-political and religious advisors who prevent them from listening to godly counsel. She emphasized the importance of prayers for leaders at all levels of authority and the need for them to experience guidance from true servants of God to make decisions that benefit the people.

Abili further highlighted the need for Nigerians, irrespective of tribal and religious divides, to return to God in repentance and prayers to secure His intervention in the current security and economic challenges facing the nation. She cited a biblical promise that if people humble themselves and turn from their sins, God will heal their land, emphasizing that healing is possible regardless of religious differences.

NAN reports that Abili, founder of Queen Belemzy Ministries-School of Power, is acclaimed for using social media platforms to spread the message of salvation and transformation, particularly among the youth worldwide.
