A Catholic Priest, Rev. Fr. Joseph Obada, has advised Nigerians to practise sincere love for God and tolerate one another as commanded by God to ensure peaceful country.
Obada, the Associate Priest of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Nyanya, Abuja, who gave the advice at a holy mass, said that it was a key to enter into the kingdom of God.
The cleric said that the love for God would guarantee religious and tribal tolerance that would enhance peaceful coexistence among the citizens.
He urged Nigerians to sustain their prayers for the country in order to achieve all set goals.
The priest admonished Christians that there was no amount of panacea or sacrifice that was equal to loving God.
“Love for God is a sure way of living a better life and one of the opportunities given to us by God.
“God requires obedience and not sacrifices from humanity,” he said.
He said that “God wants humanity to love him with all their hearts, strength, soul and mind.
“It will be logical in trying to love God for us to help someone in need of danger.
“Such action will make Nigeria a loving and caring nation to all citizens.”
He advised Nigerians to cultivate the habit of forgiveness, saying it was better than vengeance.
“Forgiveness heals the body and soul while guaranteeing such favour from God.
“When Nigerians love and tolerate one another as commanded by God, peace will be promoted,” he said.
