Zaria:Entrepreneurs in Zaria, Kaduna state gathered for the World Entrepreneurs’ Day 2026 (WED) Zazzau Version 5.0, with a focus on building resilient enterprises for the future.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the event was organized by Bello Yusuf, CEO of BYY Innovation. It brought together entrepreneurs, students, innovators, business owners, mentors, and development stakeholders. The event aims to provide a platform for networking, mentorship, and the development of sustainable businesses.
Yusuf highlighted that the initiative, which began in 2023, marks a significant milestone with this fifth edition. It was originally scheduled for August 21 but was postponed due to the death of the program’s legal adviser, Dr. Umar Bebeji, and the rainy season, which affected vendors in previous years.
The event offered mentorship, networking opportunities, and a pitching session where selected entrepreneurs could receive financial support totaling N750,000. Yusuf emphasized the importance of resilience in businesses, urging participants to adapt to changing conditions and challenges.
Keynote speaker Malam Hassan Muhammad, from Kaduna Polytechnic, spoke on enterprise resilience, emphasizing its importance for business survival and success. He stressed the need for businesses to prepare for uncertainties and adapt to internal and external pressures.
Hassan Yakubu, founder of KADA SMEs HUB, noted that entrepreneurial resilience involves learning from setbacks and building strong networks. The pitching session provided small businesses the chance to showcase their resilience and compete for additional capital.
Bilkisu Abdulkadir and Umar Imam, participants of previous editions, shared how the event has positively impacted their businesses through mentorship and networking opportunities. Abubakar Sani, Director of The Life We Deserve Foundation, highlighted the event’s role in providing opportunities for showcasing products and gaining business insights.
The News Agency of Nigeria reported that WED Zazzau Version 5.0 offered vendors and exhibitors a platform to connect with potential customers and enhance their business strategies.
