The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers of Nigeria (NUPENG) has commended the Nigerian government and Dangote Refinery and Petrochemical Company on the commencement of Petroleum Motor Spirit (PMS) production.
The commendation was contained in a statement on Wednesday, signed by the General Secretary of the Association Labi Olawale.
The General Secretary said that the entire African continent especially Nigerians have been waiting for the day when the Dangote Refinery and Petrochemical Company
will commence production from its base in Lagos State, South West Nigeria.

ise known as Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) on the glorious day of Sunday, the 1st day September 2024.
‘This day has been long anticipated and awaited with bated breath and prayers not only by Nigerians but by the entire Continent of Africa.
‘We are very proud of you, Aliko Dangote, you are a man with uncommon courage and determination. You have dared to dream and thread where no mortal has ever done,’ the statement said.
While commending the Chairman of the Dangote Group, Alliko Dangote for the feat, NUPENG described the move as a wavering commitment, innovation, and excellence in the energy sector.
‘This remarkable achievement at the world’s largest single-train petroleum refinery and petrochemical plant is a testament to your unwavering commitment, innovation, and excellence in the energy sector.
‘We recognise the immense efforts and dedication that have gone into making this vision a reality.
‘The successful production of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) at this state-of-the-art facility not only marks a sign
ificant milestone for Dangote Refinery but also represents a monumental step forward for Nigeria’s energy independence and economic growth.

On Tuesday, the Chairman of the Dangote Group Aliko Dangote, through a media briefing formally announced the commencement of the production of PMS by the Dangote Refinery and Petrochemical Company located in Lagos State, South West Nigeria.
