President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured the people of Yobe State that the perpetrators of Mafa village attack would not escape justice.
Suspected gunmen had on Sunday evening September 1, 2024 looted and set ablaze shops and houses in Mafa village in Tarmuwa Local Government Area of Yobe State.
In a statement signed by the President’s Spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, the President commiserated with the government and the people of Yobe State over the tragic loss of lives at Mafa, condemning the killings as an atrocious and cowardly act of terror by a degraded group of criminals.
He also extended his condolences to bereaved families and prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased and speedy recovery for the wounded
The Yobe State Police Command Spokesman, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, said that it was yet to be ascertained the number of lives that were lost in the incident, which occurred at about 4pm on Sunday evening in the remote village.
