Abuja: HBM Nigeria Plc has reassured its customers, shareholders, and stakeholders that its recent rebranding from Lafarge Africa Plc to HBM Nigeria Plc will not compromise its product brands, quality, or shareholder value. The company also emphasized its unwavering commitment to sustainable development during a news conference held in Lagos.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Chief Executive Officer Mr. Lolu Alade-Akinyemi emphasized that the company is dedicated to enhancing product availability and addressing Nigeria’s construction needs with sustainable solutions. Alade-Akinyemi highlighted that the transition would not impact the established brand names or the quality standards of its cement and other building solutions.

Head of Marketing Mrs. Oluyomi Moses reiterated that the company’s products and solutions remain unchanged despite the corporate identity shift. “Our product brands remain the same, and our quality remains the trusted quality Nigerians have relied on for decades,” she stated. Moses

Mrs. Graham-Douglas further explained the company’s Disability to Ability (D2A) initiative, which trained 100 individuals living with disabilities in collaboration with the Lagos State Government. The programme focused on vocational and entrepreneurial skills, including phone and laptop repairs, shoemaking, makeup artistry, wig making, and hair braiding.

In partnership with Leadway Health, HBM Nigeria marked World Malaria Day by providing free malaria testing and treatment, insecticide-treated nets, antenatal screening, and health education to about 200 vulnerable residents at Ita-Elewa Primary Health Centre in Ikorodu. The company also implemented a gender-based violence prevention programme, reaching 230 schoolgirls with counselling, reproduct
ive health education, self-defence training, and self-care kits.

HBM Nigeria organized a free breast health screening programme at Akerele Primary Health Care Centre to promote early detection and breast cancer awareness. The ‘CEO for a Day’ initiative continued to expose young people to corporate leadership through mentorship, essay and public speaking competitions, executive shadowing, and leadership sessions.
