Lungi: Vice President Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh joined President Dr. Julius Maada Bio Thursday for the final inspection of the President Julius Maada Bio International Conference Centre in Lungi, marking the completion of preparations for hosting the 69th ECOWAS Summit. The event is a significant milestone for Sierra Leone as it gets ready to welcome leaders for the 69th Ordinary Session of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government.
According to Sierra Leone News Agency, the inspection brought together senior government officials to review the facility, which will play a central role in the summit. President Bio and Vice President Jalloh toured essential sections of the centre, including the Conference Centre, Presidential Hall, Presidential Lounge, and other key areas. The modern auditorium, equipped with retractable chairs and seating for over 500 people, was also part of the tour.
During the visit, Vice President Jalloh briefed ministers and senior officials on procedures for managing the arrival and coordination of ECOWAS Heads of State, delegates, and guests. He emphasized the importance of strong coordination, effective security, and strict adherence to protocol to ensure a successful summit.
Officials assessed the operational readiness of the facility, focusing on logistics, security arrangements, and other measures to meet international standards. The assessment reaffirmed Sierra Leone’s commitment to delivering a successful summit and confirmed the country’s preparedness to host West African leaders and delegates at the new conference venue.
