Post: Kwali Chairman Focuses on Grassroots Development in Initial 100 Days

Kwali:The Chairman of Kwali Area Council, Mr. Nuhu Kwali, has emphasized grassroots development as the primary focus of his administration during its first 100 days in office.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Mr. Kwali highlighted this priority during an event celebrating his 100 days in office and the 30th anniversary of Kwali Area Council. He noted that effective leadership at the grassroots level is measured by the government’s responsiveness to everyday realities faced by the people, not just the number of projects completed.

Mr. Kwali outlined several interventions already initiated and delivered in key areas such as education, healthcare, roads, water supply, and agriculture. Notable projects include the rehabilitation of healthcare facilities in Lambata and Kilankwa II, the renovation of a primary school in Wako, and improvements on rural roads like Piri-Gumbo and Dabi-Bako. Additionally, solar-powered boreholes are being installed to enhance water access in selected communities.

Agriculture remains vital to the community’s livelihood, and the council has started supporting farmers with essential inputs to boost productivity. The chairman stressed that these initiatives aim to improve residents’ lives and livelihoods, emphasizing the importance of each project to the community’s daily needs.

Mr. Kwali acknowledged that more work is needed to meet the people’s expectations and pledged to continue engaging with communities, prioritizing responsibly, and utilizing resources effectively. He expressed gratitude to his deputy, councillors, council staff, traditional rulers, and the people of Kwali for their support and cooperation.

The Etsu Kwali and Chairman of the Kwali Council of Chiefs, HRH Luka Nizassan III, praised the chairman’s commitment and encouraged residents to maintain peace and support the government’s development efforts. He assured the administration of the traditional institution continuous support and collaboration.

Senator Phillip Aduda, in his congratulatory message, commended Mr. Kwali for elevating grassroots development and urged residents to support government initiatives aimed at improving their lives.

During the event, significant donations were made, including four Sienna buses to support traditional institutions, a car for a political leader, 30 Bajaj motorcycles for security personnel and beneficiaries, 60 sewing machines for skills acquisition, grinding machines, 130 cartons of agricultural herbicides for local farmers, and 40,000 exercise books for LEA Primary School, Kwali.
