Post: KWASUTH Reopens Radiology Department After Upgrade

Ilorin: The Kwara State University Teaching Hospital (KWASUTH) has reopened its Radiology Department following months of upgrades and refurbishment. The department is now equipped with state-of-the-art medical imaging machines.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the reopening is seen as a significant milestone for both the hospital and the health system in Kwara. The Chief Medical Director, Dr. Bola Ahmed, highlighted that the lack of functional and advanced radiology equipment had previously hindered effective diagnosis and treatment.

Speaking in Ilorin, Dr. Ahmed stated that the new acquisition is part of wider efforts to enhance healthcare delivery and improve diagnostic capacities across the state. “With installation completed, the Radiology Department has resumed full operations, offering patients essential imaging services within the hospital,” he noted.

Dr. Ahmed emphasized that the completion of testing and the presence of trained personnel signal the start of full operations. The upgrade is expected to ease patient burdens by reducing the need to rely on private facilities or travel outside Kwara for medical investigations.

He reiterated the administration’s dedication to investing in equipment, infrastructure, and manpower, thereby ensuring expanded access to quality healthcare throughout the state.
