Abuja:The Military Pensions Board (MPB) has started implementing newly approved pension rates and is processing the payment of arrears to military pensioners.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the board announced the adjustments were made in response to the implementation of the new minimum wage. The applicable arrears will be deposited into the pensioners’ accounts starting from October 2.
Sqn.-Ldr. Aliyu Mohammed, the board’s Public Relations Officer, stated that the board appreciates the patience, understanding, and cooperation demonstrated by the military pensioners throughout this process.
Mohammed affirmed the board’s dedication to ensuring timely pension payments and continuously improving pension administration. He also acknowledged the invaluable service and sacrifices made by Nigeria’s military veterans.
The board encourages pensioners to maintain their cooperation as efforts continue to enhance pension administration and service delivery.
