Abuja:Mr. Abdullamidi Busari, Federal Auditor for the Federal Ministry of Works, has called on Muslims to embody the exemplary character of Prophet Muhammad in their daily lives. He made this call in Abuja while chairing the Maulid Nabiyy celebration, organized by the Ansorul Faydoti Tijaniyyah Yoruba Society of Nigeria.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the Maulid Nabiyy celebration offers Muslims the opportunity to honor the birth of Prophet Muhammad and reflect on his noble life and teachings. Busari emphasized that the occasion should inspire Muslims to renew their commitment to the Prophet’s teachings, which include faith, compassion, justice, patience, and peaceful coexistence.
Busari highlighted that the celebration serves as a reminder to revisit the Prophet’s character, compassion, honesty, patience, and love for humanity. He noted that the Prophet’s exemplary character remains relevant in addressing the moral and social challenges facing society today.
He challenged Muslims to assess how much of the Prophet’s virtues are demonstrated in their personal and communal lives, urging reflection on their actions in homes, businesses, and relationships with neighbors.
Participants were encouraged by Busari to attentively listen to lectures at the event and apply the lessons learned in their lives. He also expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for granting Muslims the opportunity to celebrate the birth of Prophet Muhammad once more, praying for peace and blessings upon the Prophet, his household, companions, and all Muslims following his path.
Sheikh Daud Abdulmajeed Alfanla, the guest lecturer, described sufism as a spiritual tradition within Islam that emphasizes purification of the heart and good character. He explained that sufism encourages humility, patience, compassion, and love for others, while warning against pride, hatred, and excessive attachment to worldly possessions.
Sheikh Sa’ad Suleiman, Grand Khalifah of Tijaniyyah, highlighted that Maulid Nabiyy provides a learning opportunity for Muslims, especially the younger generation, to understand the Prophet’s exemplary character. The celebration also promotes unity, brotherhood, and charity, urging Muslims to translate the Prophet’s teachings into actions that strengthen families and communities.
The event included a turbaning ceremony where Sheikh Sharafdeen Aliagon was honored as Wakilut-Tijaniyyah, Sheikh Miftaudeen Balogun as Jawadul-Faydoh, and Sheikh Muhammad Qasim Shittabey as Sarkin Samarin Faydoh.
