Abuja:The Nigerian Law Society (NLS) and the Ghana Law Society (GLS) have entered into an agreement to establish the Pan-African Institute for Continuing Legal Education (PAICLE). This initiative aims to enhance continuing legal education and professional development for lawyers across Africa.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Dr. Tonye-Clinton Jaja, Executive Director of NLS, announced the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Tuesday. Jaja emphasized that the collaboration will focus on creating and delivering legal education programs via both physical and virtual platforms.
The proposed institute will be headquartered in Accra, Ghana, and is expected to provide a platform for lawyers to enhance their professional knowledge and skills. Dr. Jaja signed the MoU on behalf of NLS through his representative, Rev. Apaerala Perey.
On behalf of the Ghana Law Society, the agreement was signed by Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, who is also a member of the Ghanaian Parliament. Additionally, GLS has committed to sending a seven-member delegation to the Nigerian Law Society’s annual general conference scheduled for November 4 and 5.
