Lagos: Queen Temitope Ogunwusi, the wife of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi (Ojaja II), joined leaders of the Lagos4Lagos Movement on Saturday to commemorate the life of the late Princess Adenrele Adeniran-Ogunsanya, a former Secretary to the Lagos State Government (SSG), at a memorial service. Adeniran-Ogunsanya, who served as SSG during Governor Babatunde Fashola’s first term from 2007 to 2011, passed away in 2022.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the memorial service, titled ‘Four Years of Eternal Impact,’ was convened by Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran (Jandor), an APC governorship aspirant for 2027 and the leader of the Lagos4Lagos Movement. During the event, Queen Ogunwusi described Adeniran-Ogunsanya as a dedicated and visionary leader whose legacy continues to resonate. The queen acknowledged the late leader’s influence in her life, stating, “We have come to acknowledge God in Mama’s life. Mama is not dead, her legacies live on.”
Queen Ogunwusi, who previously served as a Personal Assistant to Adeniran-Ogunsanya, highlighted the late leader’s selflessness and dedication to serving others. She shared personal anecdotes of how Adeniran-Ogunsanya had a transformative impact on her life and praised the memorial service convener, Adediran, for his commitment to honoring the late SSG.
Adediran, reflecting on the profound impact of Adeniran-Ogunsanya, noted her unwavering support for the Lagos4Lagos Movement during challenging times. He expressed his commitment to maintaining the annual memorial service in her honor, emphasizing her enduring presence in the hearts of those she influenced.
The memorial service also featured a sermon by Bishop Funsho Awe, who encouraged attendees to maintain their faith in God. The bishop underscored the importance of trust in divine guidance, referencing biblical teachings and the example set by Adeniran-Ogunsanya’s impactful life.
