Abuja:The Queen’s Care Empowerment Foundation (QCEF) has introduced its Making, Art, Discovery and Expression (MADE) programme to the Abuja Children’s Home in Karu, aiming to expose children to creative and innovative development opportunities.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Dr. Ruqayya Ahmed, Acting Executive Director of QCEF, stated during the event that the initiative is designed to allow children to explore their creative abilities and discover potential career interests. The programme is inspired by her desire to provide artistic and technological opportunities to broaden children’s outlooks and expose them to various career paths.
The foundation has partnered with the Society of Nigerian Artists, and discussions are ongoing with other organizations and stakeholders to support the initiative on a national scale. Mohammed Suleiman, President of the Society of Nigerian Artists, described the event as a community service initiative, emphasizing the therapeutic and PTSD debriefing benefits of art.

rtist and art coach Eko Ebenezer highlighted the significant impact of early exposure to art on children’s creativity and information-processing skills. He encouraged the children to embrace learning opportunities and creative exploration, emphasizing the potential for personal growth and critical thinking.
Omini Emmanuel, Team Lead at the Abuja Children’s Home, expressed appreciation for QCEF selecting their facility for the outreach programme, noting its educational value and potential to enhance the children’s creativity and mental development.
The programme seeks to provide children with opportunities to explore art, technology, and other creative skills, helping them discover their interests, talents, and potential career paths.
