Abuja: Gov. Hope Uzodimma of Imo has pledged to promote inclusiveness and strengthen strategic coordination across all party structures to advance President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. Uzodimma, recently appointed by President Tinubu as the Renewed Hope Ambassador, made the pledge while briefing newsmen after a meeting with other state ambassadors.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the Renewed Hope Ambassadors platform was created to anchor the leadership vision of the Tinubu administration as captured in the Renewed Hope Agenda. Uzodimma emphasized the importance of identifying the progress and achievements of the administration and ensuring that citizens are aware of these accomplishments. He noted that gaps in message dissemination have left some people unaware of the successes, including efforts in economic recovery and political stabilization.
Uzodimma, who also chairs the Progressives Governors’ Forum (PGF), addressed security challenges, attributing them to political contrivance. He stressed that such distractions should not deter the President. The ambassadors are tasked with enlightening Nigerians about the administration’s progress, particularly in economic recovery, highlighting that state governments are now receiving significantly more funding than before 2023, enabling meaningful development at the sub-national level.
He emphasized that the initiative is not a political campaign but an acknowledgment of leadership that has addressed longstanding issues. Uzodimma expressed enthusiasm for promoting the administration’s message of hope, aiming to renew the hope of every Nigerian.
Addressing rising insecurity, Uzodimma condemned attempts to create a ‘synchronised national crisis’ in the guise of insecurity, particularly targeting schools and churches. He assured that all 36 state governors stand united behind the President in restoring normalcy and tackling insecurity. He called on Nigerians to defend the national interest and reject orchestrated insecurity by mischievous elements.
He concluded by emphasizing that the issue transcends individual leadership, focusing on the collective destiny, national interest, and the need for cohesion and peace. Uzodimma affirmed that Nigeria must lead, setting an example for other African nations.
