Post: Supreme Court Orders Investigation of Kamal Bhusal on Bail

Kathmandu: The Supreme Court has dismissed the habeas corpus writ filed by Kamal Bhusal, popularly known as Nicholas, and has instead issued an order directing the Ministry of Home Affairs to investigate him on bail.

According to National News Agency Nepal, a joint bench of Justices Dr. Nahakul Subedi and Nripadhwaj Niraula dismissed the writ petition filed by Nicholas, who sought an order for his release from detention. The court’s order emphasizes the necessity of obtaining bail or surety from Bhusal and mandates an investigation in a manner that does not compromise the credibility and effectiveness of the investigation against him, in line with the legal provisions, including Section 15 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 2074 BS.

Bhusal was apprehended by the police on charges related to spreading rumors and making inflammatory statements within society.
