Post: Surulere LG Chairman Commits to Enhanced Development Initiatives

Surulere:The Chairman of Surulere Local Government Area in Lagos State, Mr. Bamidele Yusuf, has emphasized the council’s commitment to advancing development initiatives aimed at improving the lives of residents.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Yusuf made these remarks during an event celebrating the 2026 National Independence Day at the council secretariat in Surulere. He highlighted that the desired progress of Nigeria could not rely solely on government efforts but required active contributions from all citizens.

Yusuf acknowledged the nation’s challenges but urged Nigerians to embrace the opportunities available and work collectively towards a better future. He committed to providing purposeful leadership and pursuing initiatives focused on enhancing residents’ welfare and Surulere’s overall development.

He noted Nigeria’s significant role in Africa over the past six decades, emphasizing the importance of translating development into tangible improvements in people’s lives. Yusuf assured that his administration would continue to introduce impactful initiatives across all sectors, prioritizing the well-being and prosperity of the community.

Emphasizing education, Yusuf outlined plans to address shortcomings by constructing classrooms, providing learning materials, and enhancing technical and vocational education. The integration of artificial intelligence into educational development was also highlighted.

Yusuf stressed the importance of maintaining a clean environment, accessible infrastructure, and a secure community. He encouraged youths to remain hopeful and focused, urging parents to support the younger generation and residents to embrace peace and unity.

Mr. Olayiwola Abdulrahman, leader of the Legislative Council, called on residents to support President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and promote the re-election of the president. He emphasized that Surulere would complement federal efforts with initiatives to improve residents’ quality of life.

Mr. Wemimo Odumosu, Chairman of the Community Development Committee, congratulated Nigerians on the 66th Independence anniversary and encouraged belief in the president, mutual support, and active participation in national development.

The event highlighted the importance of patriotism and unity among the younger generation, with pupils and students from local schools participating in the celebrations.
