Post: TAJBank’s PBT Increases by 74%, Assets Reach N1.34 Trillion in 2025

Abuja: TAJBank Limited, Nigeria’s largest non-interest bank by assets, has reinforced its position in ethical banking as its Profit Before Tax (PBT) rose by 74% to N31.562 billion for the fiscal year 2025. This increase is a significant leap from the N18.166 billion recorded in the 2024 fiscal year, according to the bank’s 2025 audited financial statement.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, a statement released by the bank’s Managing Director/CEO, Mr. Hamid Joda, highlighted that the bank’s total assets surged to N1.34 trillion from N953 billion in the previous year. Additionally, the bank’s total equity saw an increase to N149 billion, reflecting a 144% growth over the N61.250 billion recorded in 2024.

Joda attributed the bank’s improved financial performance to the management’s adoption of a prudential financial approach, which has been instrumental in boosting investor confidence. He expressed his gratitude to shareholders, assuring them of the security of their funds and promising sustainable returns annually.

Furthermore, Joda stated the bank’s commitment to rewarding shareholders for their dedication to the bank’s growth, announcing that the board approved a 20 kobo dividend per share during the 2026 virtual Annual General Meeting (AGM). This dividend is noted as one of the highest per share ratios in Nigeria’s banking industry.

The bank’s Chairman, Alhaji Tanko Gwamna, confirmed that the dividend decision was made during the AGM, emphasizing the board’s continued efforts to reward shareholders for their contributions to TAJBank’s growth.

The Executive Director, Mr. Sheriff Idi, also extended appreciation to shareholders for their trust in the management, affirming the bank’s intention to prioritize shareholder interests in their operations.

NAN reports that TAJBank Limited has been recently rated as the leading entity in the non-interest banking subsector based on its approved financial statements for the first half of 2025, in terms of both total assets and gross earnings values. The bank also achieved three International Standards Organisation (ISO) certifications, namely ISO 27001, ISO 22301, and ISO 20000, covering Information Security, Business Continuity, and International Technology Service Management Systems, respectively.
