Post: The Canada-Africa Chamber of Business Fosters Hamilton Ties to Boost Trade and Investment

Hamilton: The Canada-Africa Chamber of Business recently concluded a significant visit to Hamilton, highlighting the city’s emerging status as a pivotal hub for trade, investment, and international collaborations.

According to African Press Organization, the visit was part of the three-day Africa Accelerating 2025 program, which convened business leaders, government officials, and stakeholders from Canada and African nations. Delegates from countries such as South Africa, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Nigeria, and Kenya participated in the High-Level Visit to Hamilton, signifying a growing interest in establishing partnerships with the city and the broader Canadian economy.

During the program, delegates toured Canadian companies, including Trident Engineering Institute and Nexim Healthcare Consultants, both led by Henry Lukenge, a prominent entrepreneur from Africa who has expanded into Hamilton. Norm Schleehahn, Director Economic Development for the City of Hamilton, expressed pride in welcoming the Chamber, citing Hamilton’s transformation into a prime destination for global investment, with strengths in manufacturing, logistics, life sciences, and innovation.

Garreth Bloor, President of The Canada-Africa Chamber of Business, emphasized the Chamber’s mission of enhancing commercial ties between Canada and African markets. The visit to Hamilton is part of the Chamber’s broader efforts to promote Hamilton as an attractive investment destination, fostering opportunities and economic growth.

Mr. Schleehahn noted that the collaboration underscores Hamilton’s global perspective and the potential for stronger connections with African markets. The visit is part of the Chamber’s national efforts to boost trade and investment opportunities, paving the way for the upcoming Canada-Africa Business Conferences in Zambia and Namibia.
