Oba-Oke:President Bola Tinubu has laid a solid foundation to permanently end the frequent strikes by lecturers in tertiary institutions across Nigeria, according to Issah Niniola, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Protocol.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Niniola made this statement during an event in Oba-Oke, Olorunda Local Government Area of Osun, where educational materials were distributed to pupils and students through the Issah Adedotun Foundation.
Niniola emphasized that while Nigeria’s education system remains a work in progress, the President is committed to establishing a stable foundation. He assured that measures have been implemented to prevent future strikes, highlighting the creation of the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) and allowances for lecturers as key initiatives.
He also noted the importance of supporting the President’s potential second term, believing it will lead to further progress in education and other sectors.
Niniola, passionate about uplifting vulnerable children, has been distributing educational materials for 25 years. He stressed the importance of primary and secondary education and pledged continued support for academic excellence at these levels.
Addressing students, Niniola urged them to avoid truancy, drug abuse, and cultism, sharing his personal success story as inspiration. He expressed gratitude to President Tinubu and Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, the party’s state leader, for their backing.
At the event, Mrs. Toyin Adegoke, NDLEA Deputy State Commander, focused on drug abuse and cultism, urging students to prioritize education and cautioning against the detrimental effects of drugs on individuals and society.
