Igbogbo: Oba Semiudeen Kasali of Igbogbo Kingdom, Ikorodu, Lagos State, has extended an opportunity for free Computer-Based Test (CBT) training to 500 senior secondary students from six public schools within his community. This initiative marks part of the activities leading up to the 10th Coronation Anniversary of the traditional ruler.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Prince Adesegun Ogunlewe, Chairman of the Central Planning Committee for the anniversary, made this announcement in a statement on Sunday in Lagos. Ogunlewe, who previously served as the Lagos State Head of Service, noted that the training is set to take place on Tuesday at the HOMAT CBT Centre in Igbogbo. He conveyed the traditional ruler’s belief that “knowledge is the lasting crown we can give our young people,” emphasizing the importance of education in the development of the community.
The schools benefiting from this initiative include Zumratul Islamiyah Grammar School, Community Secondary School in Bayeku, Lagos State Model Girls College in Agunfoye, Reri Secondary School in Oreta, Oreyo Grammar School, and Civil Service Model College. Participants in the program will gain from hands-on CBT practice, exam-strategy coaching, and career guidance, all aimed at boosting their readiness for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
Ogunlewe further stated that the program underscores the traditional ruler’s dedication to advancing education as a means to sustainable development in Igbogbo. The initiative is also designed to improve digital literacy and increase students’ confidence in computer-based examinations.
