LAGOS – The play “Fajuyi,” focusing on the late Col. Adekunle Fajuyi, the military governor of old Western Region, is scheduled to be staged in Lagos on November 5. The production is by the Duke of Shomolu Foundation, known for its historical theatrical plays.
According to a new release by News Agency of Nigeria, AbduRahman Abdulrasaq of Kwara and Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti have confirmed their attendance. Also expected to attend are their former Ondo counterpart, Kayode Fayemi, as well as Chief Emeka Anyaoku, Gen. Ike Nwachukwu, Sen. Michael Opeyemi, and Amb. Thomas Ironsi. Additional attendees include Mr. Donald Fajuyi, Dr. Tunji Olowolafe, and Prince Julius Adelusi-Adeluyi.
The play, initially staged in Ado-Ekiti, received strong support from Gov. Oyebanji, who called for national recognition of Fajuyi’s contributions. The play is sponsored by Premium Trust Bank, MTN Foundation, and Purple Anchor Insurance, with Dr. Tunji Olowolafe and Mrs. Mofoluwake Edgar serving as its executive producers.
