According to News Agency of Nigeria, the Centre now features modernized spaces and advanced technology to expand access to various resources. The Embassy emphasized that the role of the American Centre and American Spaces is to foster opportunities and connections. The spaces are intended to provide information about the U.S., support English language teaching, and offer educational advisory for studying in U.S. institutions. Additionally, they focus on cultural programs, networking with U.S. exchange program alumni, and professional skills building.
Richard Mills, the U.S. Ambassador to Nigeria, expressed pride in reopening the American Centre as a venue that celebrates American excellence in the arts and reflects core national values. He highlighted that American Spaces offer a welcoming environment for students, entrepreneurs, and community leaders to connect, collaborate, and innovate.
