Post: UBEC Encourages Stakeholders to Strengthen HOPE-EDU Implementation

Ikeja: The Executive Secretary of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Dr. Aisha Garba, has called upon education stakeholders to enhance the implementation of the HOPE EDU Programme to improve basic education learning outcomes. Garba made this appeal during the opening of a regional workshop for State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) directors and support officers from the South-West and North-Central geopolitical zones.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the workshop, which commenced in Ikeja on August 16 and is set to conclude on August 26, focuses on Result Area 1 of the HOPE EDU Programme. This area particularly emphasizes the implementation of the Structured Pedagogy Package and book supply chain systems. Garba highlighted that the workshop marks a significant moment in the collective effort to strengthen the foundations of basic education, ensuring Nigerian children acquire essential literacy and numeracy skills.

Dr. Garba expressed the Federal Government’s commitment, in collabo

States are expected to demonstrate readiness by November 15 to unlock the first round of programme disbursements. Garba emphasized that this readiness is essential for accessing programme funds and, more importantly, securing the educational future of children.

Dr. Garba praised the diverse composition of workshop delegates, which includes directors of various academic and support services. She encouraged participants to exchange ideas and develop actionable roadmaps, stres

The workshop is anticipated to enhance states’ readiness for the implementation of Result Area 1 and facilitate access to the programme’s initial round of disbursements.
