Abuja:The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has announced his intention to lead the campaign efforts for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, focusing on the FCT and Rivers State.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Wike revealed these plans during an inspection of the ongoing Kuje-Gwagwalada road dualisation project in Abuja. He stated that political parties are organizing their efforts, and supporters of the president are preparing for an assertive campaign. Wike emphasized that he would soon inaugurate the campaign team for Tinubu in both the FCT and Rivers.
Wike addressed critics by highlighting that the administration’s visible development projects would be a significant factor in securing electoral support, dismissing any allegations of electoral malpractice. He stressed that the government’s infrastructure achievements would translate directly into votes in the FCT, including support for Sen. Philip Aduda and the two House of Representatives seats.
