Abuja: African Democratic Congress (ADC) has reduced its presidential nomination form fee to N90 million and released an updated schedule for its 2026 primary elections. The party had earlier set the presidential nomination form fee at N100 million.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, announced that the decision to review the fees followed extensive consultations with party leaders, aspirants, and stakeholders across the country. Under the revised structure, the presidential nomination form is now priced at N90 million, while the fees for governorship, Senate, House of Representatives, and State Assembly forms are N30 million, N10 million, N5 million, and N2 million, respectively.
The party has maintained its concession policy, offering a 50 per cent discount to youths aged 18 to 35 and a 25 per cent discount to women and persons with disabilities. The revised timetable indicates that nomination forms will be available for purchase from May 1 to May 4, and the submission of completed forms will take place from May 6 to May 13.
Screening of aspirants is set for May 14 and May 15, with the results to be published on May 17. Appeals will be conducted from May 18 to May 19, and the final list of cleared aspirants will be published on May 20. This will precede the primaries for the State Assembly, House of Representatives, and Senate, which are scheduled for May 21.
The governorship primaries are slated for May 22, and the presidential primary will occur on May 23. Following these events, the National Executive Committee meeting is scheduled for May 25, with the Special National Convention set for May 26, 2026. Abdullahi emphasized that these adjustments reflect broad consultations aimed at strengthening internal democracy, improving inclusiveness, and ensuring broader access for aspirants.
He urged all aspirants and stakeholders to comply strictly with the revised timetable and guidelines in preparation for the 2027 general elections. (NAN)
