Abuja: The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has extended its congratulations to Malam Ali Muhammad Ali on his reappointment as the Managing Director of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN). Mr. Silas Agara, the Director-General of NDE, conveyed his felicitations to the NAN Chief Executive Officer in a message issued in Abuja.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Agara expressed his confidence in Ali’s ability to build on his previous achievements and elevate NAN to new heights during his renewed tenure. He emphasized his belief in Ali’s continued success, stating, “knowing you as I do, I have no doubt that you will continue to build on your remarkable achievements and legacies.”
Agara highlighted that Ali’s reappointment is a testament to President Bola Tinubu’s confidence in Ali’s leadership and his contribution to the administration’s goals. The NDE director-general echoed this sentiment, noting that the directorate also shares in the confidence placed in Ali’s capacity to lead NAN effectively and surpass his previous records.
The director-general extended his best wishes to Ali, hoping for God’s protection, sound health, wisdom, and guidance as he embarks on another three-year national assignment. Agara expressed optimism about the success and impact of Ali’s renewed tenure.
President Bola Tinubu approved Ali’s reappointment for a second three-year term as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NAN on August 23. Ali’s first appointment was on October 20, 2023, with the second term set to begin on October 20, 2026.
Ali, a veteran journalist and media manager with over 30 years of experience, has a strong interest in media evolution and content development in a digital world. He aims to meet the needs of a diverse population with alternative news feeds. His academic credentials include a graduate degree in International Affairs from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, a first degree in English from Bayero University, Kano, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Mass Communication from BUK.
