Abuja:Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Nyesom Wike, has dismissed a report circulating on social media that alleged he endorsed the Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate in Adamawa, Senator Ishaku Abbo. Wike described the report as ‘fake’ in a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Mr. Lere Olayinka, on Friday.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the social media post falsely quoted Wike as advising Adamawa residents to consider their choices carefully at the ballot box, claiming he had described Abbo as the ideal candidate to govern the state.
The minister clarified that he holds no affiliations with the Labour Party or any of its candidates in Adamawa, asserting that he did not endorse Abbo or any other LP candidate. He further urged the residents of Adamawa to dismiss the report, assuring that he would make any endorsements publicly clear if he decides to support a candidate.
