Abuja:The Chris Igbokwe Foundation has urged the Federal Government and generous Nigerians to assist in sustaining and expanding its humanitarian initiatives across the nation.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Chris Igbokwe, the President and Founder of the foundation, made this appeal during a news conference held in Abuja. He emphasized the importance of collaboration between the government, private organizations, and individuals to address the challenges faced by vulnerable citizens.
Igbokwe highlighted the necessity for the government to enhance its support for humanitarian efforts as a means to promote sustainable development and improve the living conditions of disadvantaged individuals nationwide. Tackling the underlying causes of poverty, hunger, and other social issues is essential for addressing insecurity and fostering peace and stability in Nigeria, he stated.
Providing aid to vulnerable populations is a collective responsibility, Igbokwe noted, requiring contributions from all stakeholders. The Chris Igbokwe Foundation, active for over five years, provides scholarships, clothing, food, and other forms of support to the less privileged in both the North and South of Nigeria. Additionally, the foundation undertakes community development projects, such as supplying electricity and amenities, primarily funded through personal resources.
Igbokwe pointed out that as the foundation grows, so do its responsibilities and the number of people in need of assistance, highlighting the urgent requirement for support from the government and well-meaning Nigerians. Increased support would enable the foundation to reach more vulnerable individuals and contribute more effectively to alleviating hunger, poverty, and insecurity in the country.
