Abuja: The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr Nyesom Wike, has assured residents that every sector will receive attention under the current administration before the end of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s tenure. Wike shared this commitment while initiating new road and drainage projects in the Asokoro Extension District of Abuja.
According to Voice of Nigeria, the infrastructure projects are part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda, which seeks to elevate Abuja to the status of leading global cities. The FCT Administration is set to expand its reform and development initiatives to the education and health sectors, with plans for rehabilitating over 40 schools and launching new capital projects in health.
Wike emphasized that sectors such as transport, roads, sports, and education have already been addressed, and the focus will now shift to health. He urged Nigerians to be patient and supportive, acknowledging that progress requires time and resources. Residents and business owners were encouraged to pay their taxes promptly, as tax revenues are crucial for sustaining infrastructure development.
The Minister highlighted that tax payments are not just civic duties but investments in the community’s comfort and progress. Wike reassured that the government’s commitment is to ensure that the FCT can compete with the world’s leading cities. Several projects, including roads, water projects, and city lighting, have been initiated across the FCT, showcasing the government’s dedication to developing every part of the capital city.
The ongoing projects are also generating employment opportunities, with construction companies engaging thousands of youths, aligning with the Renewed Hope agenda.
