Post: FRSC Sector Commander Warns Against Bribery and Advocates Ethical Conduct

Osogbo: Mr Sunday Adebayo, Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Osun Command, has issued a stern warning to the personnel against engaging in bribery while performing their duties. Adebayo emphasized the importance of maintaining a zero-tolerance stance on corrupt practices during his recent visit to the Ife Unit Command.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the sector commander was warmly welcomed by the Unit Commander, Mr Pius Ogunloye. Adebayo praised Ogunloye for his leadership and dedication, promising his support in addressing the challenges faced by the command. He recognized the valuable contributions of the Special Marshals and encouraged all personnel to uphold the integrity of the corps, stressing the possibility of living a decent life without compromising on ethical values.

Adebayo highlighted the damage bribery has caused to the public’s perception of the FRSC, urging personnel to represent the corps positively, especially during patrol and enforcement activities. He also expressed concern over the Road Traffic Crash (RTC) statistics in Osun, pointing out that many incidents were preventable. The sector commander urged operatives to continuously evaluate their efforts in crash prevention.

Focusing on personnel welfare and individual health management, Adebayo advised officers to responsibly plan their lives. He instructed patrol operatives to pay special attention to vehicles with dealer stickers, signaling a need for increased vigilance.

In his welcome address, Unit Commander Mr Pius Ogunloye highlighted the unit’s achievements, operational commitments, and major challenges that require support. During his visit, the sector commander also met with the Oniwaro of Iworo, Oba Adesokan Ayoola, Ilufemiloye I, at his palace, where Oba Ayoola pledged his support for FRSC operations within his domain.
