Post: Kaduna: Police Warns Residents Ahead of Shooting Exercise


Kaduna: Police Command has advised residents to avoid marked areas as a shooting range exercise for recruit constables will take place on Tuesday, 19th, and Wednesday, 20th August 2025. The Kaduna State Police Command emphasized the importance of public awareness and safety during this period.



According to Voice of Nigeria, the Public Relations Officer of the Command, DSP Mansir Hassan, stated that the exercise is expected at Amanan Kasuwa Shooting Range along Maraban Jos-Panbegua Road in Igabi Local Government Area. This announcement aims to ensure that residents are informed and take necessary precautions.



‘Residents and commuters within and around the area are advised to exercise caution and avoid the marked vicinity during the exercise,’ DSP Hassan said. The police have assured the public of their safety, as strict measures have been implemented to prevent any untoward incidents.



DSP Hassan further assured the public that strict safety measures have been put in place, highlighting that there is no cause for alarm despite expected gunshot sounds. He emphasized that the public’s cooperation is essential for the smooth conduct of the exercise.



‘We seek the maximum cooperation of the people and appreciate their understanding,’ he added, noting that the exercise is crucial to enhancing officers’ operational readiness and preparing them for future challenges. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to improve the effectiveness of law enforcement personnel in the region.
