Abuja: The Kwara State Public Procurement Agency (KWPPA) has won two prestigious honours at the 8th Africa Supply Chain Summit held in Lagos. According to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), KWPPA, an agency responsible for regulating the procurement of goods, works, and services by the government in Kwara, focuses on ensuring probity, accountability, and transparency in the public procurement process.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Reacting to the development, Alhaji Raheem AbdulBaki, the General Manager of KWPPA, dedicated the honour to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, acknowledging his support and leadership. He attributed the recognition to the hard work of the agency’s staff, highlighting their dedication and professionalism. AbdulBaki described the recognition as a collective achievement and encouraged the staff to maintain their commitment to excellence.
He emphasized that the awards are a testament to the dedication, discipline, teamwork, and professionalism of every staff member, urging them to use this recognition as motivation to elevate their efforts. He noted that the agency continues to gain recognition both within Nigeria and internationally for its adherence to transparency, accountability, and global best practices in public procurement.
AbdulBaki mentioned that the latest honours validate the impact of the AbdulRazaq administration’s reforms and the agency’s growing reputation as a prominent public procurement institution in Africa. He remarked that the awards reflect the success of the reforms introduced by the governor, which have transformed public procurement in Kwara through a commitment to transparency, accountability, due process, and good governance.
NAN reports that the agency received the Award of Excellence in Public Procurement Compliance for the year 2026. Additionally, AbdulBaki was honoured with the Africa Top 50 Procurement and Supply Chain Leaders Award for his leadership and contributions to advancing public procurement practice.
