Abuja:The Minister of Defence, Gen. Christopher Musa, has expressed deep sorrow over the crash of a military aircraft with tail number NAF 931, which involved personnel from the Armed Forces.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Musa stated that the incident claimed the lives of officers and airmen who were on a routine flight mission while serving the nation. He described the loss as an irreparable blow to the military high command, their comrades-in-arms, and the entire Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Musa highlighted that the officers and men exemplified high standards of military professionalism, loyalty, and commitment. He extended condolences to President Bola Tinubu, the leadership of the Armed Forces, and the families of the fallen heroes, expressing shared grief and solidarity.
In addition to mourning the military personnel, the minister also condoled the families of civilians on board the ill-fated aircraft. He announced that a comprehensive investigation had been ordered to determine the cause of the crash and ensure reinforcement of operational safety protocols across military aviation units.
Musa concluded by praying for eternal repose for the departed souls and fortitude for their families, the military community, and all Nigerians to bear the loss.
