Post: NIGCOMSAT Reaffirms Commitment to Connectivity and Service Delivery

Abuja:The Managing Director of Nigerian Communications Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) Ltd, Mrs. Jane Egerton-Idehen, has emphasized the agency’s dedication to enhancing connectivity and supporting national development through quality service delivery. This announcement was made during the 2026 Customer Service Week celebration organized by the agency.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, Egerton-Idehen highlighted the impact of customer feedback in improving NIGCOMSAT’s operations, noting that awareness of the agency’s mandates has significantly increased over the past three years. She explained that NIGCOMSAT has developed a team focused on customer engagement, understanding traffic, addressing issues, and boosting service reliability.

Egerton-Idehen pointed out that NIGCOMSAT now has multiple redundancies to maintain continuous service, having invested in seven power redundancy checks and multiple connectivity failover points. The agency has also prioritized staff training and new technologies to enhance customer experience and aims to extend connectivity to underserved areas, often overlooked by private operators.

Furthermore, NIGCOMSAT supports various initiatives such as the free-to-air Digital Switchover (DSO) with over 100 channels and deploying broadband to Primary Healthcare Centres in collaboration with the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency. The agency is also involved in connectivity projects for education, agriculture, and assisting Mobile Network Operators in expanding rural coverage.

Mr. Wilfred Etineh, Head of Human Resources at NIGCOMSAT, encouraged staff to deliver exceptional service by taking responsibility and demonstrating empathy in customer interactions. He emphasized that exceptional service is a collective responsibility, not limited to customer service departments.

Customer feedback has been positive, with Zakari Aliyu from Kaduna State Media Corporation and Abduwaheed Odusile both commending NIGCOMSAT for its reliability. The Customer Service Week is celebrated globally to honor customers and recognize staff contributions to service delivery.
