Abuja: The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, recently organized quiz and debate competitions for secondary school students in Ile-Ife.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the event saw St. John Primary School secure the first position in the quiz category, followed by L.A. Primary School, Ilode in second, and Community Primary School, Igboya in third.
In the debate category, Olurogbo High School emerged as the winner, with Ife Girls High School and Fedehan International Colleges taking second and third places respectively. The Ooni, represented by the Victor Badejo Foundation, awarded winners with prizes and gifts during the ceremony held at Keshington Hall of the Ooni’s Palace in Ile-Ife.
The Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice for Osun, Wole Jimi-Bada (SAN), addressed the students, urging them to strive for excellence in their future careers. Represented by Debo Oladinni, the Senior Legal Adviser to the State Government, Jimi-Bada emphasized the importance of time management and staying focused to achieve success.
Furthermore, Mrs. Opeyemi Badejo, wife of the convener, highlighted that the event was not only an academic contest but also a celebration of knowledge, culture, leadership, and the potential of young people.
