Lagos:The National Pension Commission (PenCom) has introduced PenCom Chronicles, a corporate magazine designed to document Nigeria’s pension industry and improve public understanding.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, PenCom’s Director-General, Ms. Omolola Oloworaran, stated the magazine would serve as a platform to communicate the commission’s activities, reforms, and industry developments. She announced this during the magazine’s launch in Lagos on Tuesday.
The initiative aims to address gaps in public understanding of the pension sector’s developments and activities. PenCom Chronicles is intended to be the commission’s flagship corporate publication, offering insights into its initiatives and contributions to industry development.
The inaugural edition marks the start of a new chapter in PenCom’s corporate communication and storytelling. It is envisioned as a platform for PenCom to narrate its journey and contribute to broader pension-related conversations in Nigeria.
The publication will provide comprehensive accounts of industry developments, establish editorial and digital directions for future editions, and feature news, interviews, updates, human-interest stories, features, and commentaries. It is structured into two editorial sections to offer varied perspectives on the industry’s advancements.
Each edition will document significant industry developments and offer stakeholders a platform to express their views, helping Nigerians better understand the pension system and its evolution. Oloworaran expressed optimism about the magazine becoming a vital information source for stakeholders and the public.
Earlier in the event, Oloworaran acknowledged journalists for their contributions to projecting developments in Nigeria’s pension industry. Mr. Chuks Udo-Okonta received the 2026 PenCom Media Excellence Award for Outstanding Pension Journalist in the online category. Modestus Anaesoronye of BusinessDay won the print category, while Ini John-Mekwa of Channels Television was recognized in the television category.
