Abuja: The Bola Ahmed Tinubu Vanguard (BAT Vanguard) has endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term in office, promising to mobilise not less than 10 million votes to ensure his re-election in 2027. Sola Olofin, the Convener of BAT Vanguard, a prominent support group of the All Progressives Congress (APC), stated this during the organisation’s end-of-the-year party and special recognition awards in Abuja.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Olofin, who is also the Management Board Chairman of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), said that the group’s endorsement was anchored on Tinubu’s performance, capacity, vision, and the need to consolidate on-going reforms. He highlighted Tinubu’s leadership in implementing necessary economic and security reforms and noted that Nigeria is being rebuilt deliberately and systematically.
The Tinubu-led administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, Olofin argued, is becoming a testament to reform that is steadily repositioning Nigeria. He emphasized that the endorsement is grounded in Tinubu’s proven leadership and the need for continuity to complete the nation’s transformation.
The national convener announced that the BAT Vanguard is repositioning from a political campaign structure to a governance-support institution. Looking ahead to 2028, the group plans to engage in structured monitoring and evaluation across key ministries, departments, and agencies to ensure compliance with the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Additionally, the BAT Vanguard is launching a national social investment inspired by the Renewed Hope vision. Starting in 2028, the group will roll out assistance programs to support vulnerable households with basic welfare support.
An APC chieftain, Dr. O’Diakpo Obire, emphasized the importance of completing the reform journey under Tinubu’s leadership, citing key achievements such as the Student Loan Fund and infrastructure renewal. He urged the group to continue promoting government achievements and countering misinformation.
The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Muhammed Idris, expressed the ministry’s commitment to counter misinformation and highlight the administration’s achievements. He pledged partnership with BAT Vanguard to use a newly-approved institute to address misinformation nationwide.
The Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, noted the impact of democracy at the grassroots level in the FCT and expressed confidence in APC’s success in future elections due to the administration’s achievements.
Abiodun Essiet, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement, and Rep. Fatoba Olusola, Chairman of the House Committee on Information, National Orientation, Ethics, and Values, also commended the vanguard for its support and contributions to good governance.
