Abuja:Mr. Ezekiel Nya-Etok, Executive Director of Estate Services at the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), has voiced his support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid. This announcement was made during a news conference in Abuja, where Nya-Etok discussed the current administration and Nigeria’s future.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Nya-Etok emphasized that Nigeria is approaching a critical election period, urging citizens to carefully evaluate the track records of all candidates. His endorsement of Tinubu’s second term is based on three main factors the President’s willingness to implement difficult structural reforms, openness to professional competence, and the necessity for continuity in governance.
Nya-Etok highlighted his firsthand experience of Tinubu’s leadership, gained through his appointment by the administration, which allowed him to witness the President’s approach to addressing longstanding national challenges. He mentioned significant reforms carried out by Tinubu, such as the removal of the petrol subsidy and foreign exchange reforms, which he described as essential for effective leadership.
Furthermore, Nya-Etok expressed that economic improvements should translate into better living conditions for all citizens, stressing the importance of government transparency regarding the progress and expected benefits of ongoing reforms. He also advocated for greater focus on social housing, mass transportation, healthcare, and education, while calling for prompt payment of salaries and pensions.
The Executive Director underscored the importance of citizens in a democracy, urging them to demand accountability and scrutinize leadership decisions. He also encouraged the opposition to present detailed implementation plans rather than slogans, as part of a serious examination of how leadership decisions can improve lives.
Nya-Etok concluded by acknowledging that while Tinubu’s reforms are significant, ongoing hardships indicate that substantial work remains. He called for the continuation of effective policies and correction of implementation failures, asserting that true leadership is measured by the ability to convert tough decisions into lasting benefits.
